My sudden and totally unplanned move to live with my mother as co-caregiver (Alzheimer’s and dementia) has come with more than one silver lining. I’ve already shared how much I’ve come to love getting to know my little brother over the past three-plus years, but another serendipitous opportunity has revealed itself.
Though Mom isn’t much for conversation these days, I don’t want her sitting alone too much, so I often sit near-by, which can get monotonous, so … I work on my novel! I find boredom to be a great catalyst for creativity.
Being essentially lazy, I procrastinate like crazy on getting to WORK on my story that just won’t go away (I’m 20,000 words into it and still passionate about it). So, one of my goals this year is to finish it. Noveling is much more difficult for me than writing non-fiction. Y’all know I’m prolific in that 😊.
No new events to announce just yet, but I am working on some stuff, so stay tuned!
I know that all my subscribers are not interested in everything I write about. That’s why I have separate columns (eclectic, remember?). Only subscribe to the columns that interest you. No email spam from me!
I’ve spent time since the New Year updating my columns. I’ve written quite a few articles and posted to the following:
If you are interested in romantic suspense/mystery romance novels subscribe to Edgy Inspy | Jocelyn Andersen | Substack (read an excerpt of my novel HERE)

Are you a writer who would love to connect with other writers for mentoring, support, and practical tips for navigating this awesome and sometimes convoluted world of authoring? Awesome Authors | Jocelyn Andersen | Substack
For those experiencing domestic abuse and/or violence and for those they are most likely to turn to for help: Woman Submit: Christian Response to Domestic Violence | Jocelyn Andersen | Substack
Jocelyn Andersen is an author and book editor who writes and speaks about a variety of topics. Her work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, radio, and television. She is the author of several non-fiction books and is currently working on her first novel.
On a more personal note: Most of my columns (I have several) are focused on the issues and passions I write about, but in the past, I have rarely written about what’s going on with me personally. This is the place for me to get over that. Connect with me on Facebook, Goodreads and LinkedIn. Links to all my Substack columns are HERE. I love getting to know my readers. Tell me about yourself in the comments of this post!
